Malaysian Foreign Minister Dato' Sri Saifuddin Abdullah received U Kyaw Win, Foreign Affairs Committee member and spokesperson for the Muslim of Myanmar Multi-Ethnic Consultative Committee (MMMCC), at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Wisma Putra) on April 6, 2022.

During the high-level meeting, both parties discussed critical issues regarding Myanmar refugees currently residing in Malaysia, specifically focusing on employment opportunities, healthcare access, and education for displaced children. The discussions also addressed broader issues, including the Rohingya crisis, the situation of Myanmar Muslims, and international accountability mechanisms for war crimes committed by the military junta. Both sides reached an agreement to foster future cooperation between Malaysia and the MMMCC.

Following the discussions, the MMMCC representative attended an official Iftar dinner hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.
